The practice has a team of experienced, dedicated, GP partners who aim to provide you with an excellent service in relation to your healthcare needs.

MB ChB (University of Dundee) 1999

Dr Barrs is our Senior Partner who completed her medical training at the University of Dundee in 1999.  Upon completion, Dr Barrs rotated through a number of areas within the NHS which included obstetrics and gynaecology, psychiatry, care of the elderly, ENT and opthalmology before commencing training as GP.

Dr Barrs' interests include women's health and child health.  She currently works 7 sessions per week at Tayview.

Dr Barrs is available, within the practice, on a Monday morning, Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, Thursday all day and Friday all day.  There are times, depending on whether Dr Barrs is assisting with our extended hour surgeries, that her Monday or Tuesday morning may be changed to an afternoon.

MB ChB (University of Dundee) 2003, MRCGP 2009

Dr Ansar is a full time General Practitioner and is also the GP Cluster Quality Lead for North East Fife for the Fife Health & Social Care Partnership.  Between 2003 - 2008, Dr Ansar has spent time working in various departments as part of his training in NHS Tayside.  Dr Ansar currently delivers steroid injections for the practice and is also going to be a facilitator for the Surgical Skills Unit course delivery.  Together, with his colleagues, he is involved in helping deliver care to the patients of the practice.

Dr Ansar began working at Tayview Medical Practice immediately following his post qualification training within General Practice in Tayside.  He is currently a GP tutor for Dundee University and provides teaching to medical students regarding general practice.  As of October 2016, Dr Ansar began working with the Health & Social Care Partnership within Fife.  This position involves promoting inter-practice collaboration to reflect the needs of General Practice in order to help serve the population of North East Fife as effectively as possible.  Dr Ansar is also involved with the Out of Hours service for both NHS Fife and NHS Tayside. 

Dr Ansar's interests include CHD (Coronary Heart Disease) management, orthopaedics and education/training.

Dr Ansar is available, within the practice, on a Monday Morning, Wednesday Morning, Thursday Morning and Friday.

MB ChB (University of Dundee) 2007, MRCGP

Dr Goudie studied medicine at the University of Dundee and graduated in 2007.  Upon completion of his Degree, Dr Goudie worked within various hospital departments across Perth, Angus and Dundee before completing his GP training at a practice within Dundee.  Dr Goudie is the joint diabetic lead for the practice and also has a keen interest in dermatology.  He is also the lead GP for our medical students who attend from St. Andrews University.

Dr Goudie has interests in dermatology, minor surgery and diabetes.

Dr Goudie is available, within the practice, on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Gilmour commenced as a partner of the practice in October 2016.  Prior to completing her general practice training, Dr Gilmour worked within a variety of hospital departments including surgical, medical, A&E and paediatrics.

Dr Gilmour has interests in paediatrics, end of life care, mental health and women's health.

Dr Gilmour is available, within the practice, on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Dr Jamrozek commenced as a partner of the practice in September 2019.  Prior to completing his general practice training, Dr Jamrozek worked within a variety of hospital departments including general medicine, general surgery, haematology, acute medicine and neurosurgery.

Dr Jamrozek has interests in respiratory, derematology, mental health and paediatrics

Dr Jamrozek is also fluent in Polish.

Dr Jamrozek is available, within the practice, on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

BSc, MBChB (University of Dundee) 2014, DGM, DAPCM, MRCGP (GP)

After graduating from Dundee, Lloyd completed his foundation training in Dundee before moving to Edinburgh to complete a clinical fellowship in geriatric and stroke medicine. He returned to Fife to complete his GP training. Prior to joining Tayview, he worked as a salaried GP in Arbroath. He has special interests in Dementia, nursing home medicine and clinical research around multi-morbidity, health policy and integrated care systems. 

Dr Hughes is available in the practice on a Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday.

Our Practice Nursing team is experienced in providing you with a wide range of services.  Such services include chronic disease management (assisting you with the management of any chronic diseases you may have such as asthma or diabetes), wound dressing, ear syringing, the taking of blood samples, blood pressure checks, travel advice and other vaccinations, cervical screening, pre-school child booster immunisations and health promotion/education.

Barbara joined Tayview in August 2016 having previously worked within the Community Nursing Team at NHS Tayside as a Senior Charge Nurse.  Barbara completed her nurse training in 1991 and has worked within a variety of departments within NHS Fife, NHS Tayside and NHS Greater Glasgow bringing a wealth of nursing expertise with her to Tayview.

Barbara is a qualified nurse prescriber and has clinical expertise in wound care/tissue viability, doppler and leg ulcer assessment, diabetes care, providing lifestyle advice, diabetic foot assessment and chronic disease management.  She is currently undertaking training for cervical screening and can also provide patients with travel advice.  Barbara has Diplomas in CHD management and Managing Diabetes in the Community.  She also has certificates in Leading Better Care, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

Barbara works Monday to Friday and rotates between both practices.

Our team of experienced healthcare assistants can assist with the provision of blood taking, blood pressure checks, certain vaccinations, ear syringing, ECGs, Warfarin clinics, spirometry, height/weight/BMI measurements, alcohol advice and the monitoring of some chronic diseases such as heart disease or high blood pressure.

LL.B (2009)   HND Adult Nursing (2001)

David is responsible for the co-ordination and management of non-clinical aspects of the practice including strategic direction.

Areas included are human resource management, training, teambuilding, systems organisation, finance, health and safety, information management, computing and audit, and dealing with complaints and feedback. David re-joined the practice in September 2023 and has over 21 years of NHS experience; having spent 16 of them in general practice.

Elaine is our Assistant Practice Managers and works alongside the Business Manager.

Elaine deputises in the absence of the Practice Manager and is responsible for the day to day operation of the practice as well as GMS Contract responsibilities. She is responsible for the area of chronic disease management call and recall systems, data and spreadsheet management including updating patient electronic records, the day to day management of the computer system including training of staff and ensuring patient records are maintained.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Our practice secretaries are responsible for ensuring all GP referrals are completed in a timely manner.  They can assist you with any questions you have regarding any referrals that may have been sent.  Our secretaries are also responsible for assisting with private claim work (such as work requested from solicitors or insurance companies) and other financial work.

On discovering that you are pregnant, your first port of call should be your midwife. You don’t need to see your GP.  Patients should contact the midwifery team by dialling 01334 465848 who will assist with arranging your first appointment at the practice.

If, on discovering that you are pregnant, you decide that you do not wish to continue with the pregnancy, you should contact the practice on 01382 543251 and request a consultation with a GP to discuss your options further.

Once you have booked with your midwife, your care may be midwife-led, consultant-led or a mixture of both depending on your circumstances.

Our Community Nursing Team is lead by Community Charge Nurse Mhairi Price.

The Community Nursing Team is attached to Tayview Medical Practice and the team can visit patients at home who are 16 years of age or older and housebound.  The team also works closely with social services, statutory and voluntary agencies and have skills to meet a variety of health care needs as detailed below:

• Expertise in wound care
• The management of continence
• The provision and management of comprehensive packages of care for people with acute, chronic or terminal illness. 
• Support and education of carers in their caring role
• Planning rehabilitation programmes with patients, families and other professionals.
• Hospital after care
• Maintenance and monitoring of chronic health conditions

The Community Nursing Team provide a core, daytime, service that operates from 08.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday.  They can be contacted on 01382 542687.

A nursing service is also available outwith the daytime service, including weekends and all public holidays.  This service is operated in the same way as the Out of Hours GP service and may be contacted by telephoning NHS 24 on 111.

Our Health Visiting Team comprises of two health visitors (Alice Davies and Katrine Allan) and a Support Staff Nurse (Anne McRobb).

Health Visitors are trained nurses who have gone on to complete further training in public health.  They specialise in the support and care of families with children under 5 years.  They work to the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and offer a core home visiting programme of 11 home visits to families and 3 child health reviews at 13 - 15 months, 27 - 30 months, and 4 - 5 years. 

Families who move into the area will also be offered a visit to introduce the service.

Additional support visits will take place as required for families with extra needs as negotiated with the family.

They can be contacted on 01382 542785 (an answering machine is available outside office hours which are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm).

There are also health visitor students and nursing students frequently working with the team.

The health visiting team can be contacted for any support and advice needed for your child's health and wellbeing.

The Immunisation Team is responsible for all vaccines delivered under the routine Scottish Childhood Immunisation Programme.  If your child is due to have an immunisation, you should contact the Immunisation Team on 01383 565456 who will assist you further with arranging an appointment.
